St. Vincent And The Grenadines To Reborrow US$9m From Venezuela | RJR News

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines authorities has obtained permission from Venezuela to borrow US$9 million it paid on loans owed to the ALBA Financial institution.


The cash had been held in an escrow account on the Jap Caribbean Central Financial institution, as sanctions imposed on Venezuela by the United States prevented its switch to Caracas.


Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says US$4 million is for use to purchase vessels for the fishing trade.
