Mountain lion struck, killed on 405 Freeway in Brentwood 1 day ahead of wildlife crossing groundbreaking

BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A mountain lion was struck and killed by a driver on the 405 Freeway in Brentwood early Thursday morning.

The big cat was struck on southbound lanes close to Getty Heart Drive round 1 a.m. In keeping with a site visitors log from the California Freeway Patrol, authorities reported a mountain lion blocking a number of lanes of the freeway, stopping site visitors by way of the Sepulveda Move.

The animal has since been faraway from freeway lanes, however officers haven’t but recognized it.

The deadly crash comes only a day earlier than the groundbreaking ceremony for what’s being billed because the world’s largest wildlife crossing. Officers say the bridge over the 101 Freeway will give massive cats and different wildlife a secure path to open house within the Santa Monica Mountains.
